Spearheaded by the Pertubuhan Generasi Digital Malaysia (PGDM) in collaboration with the World K-Pop Centre (WKC) based in Namsan, Seoul, South Korea, this program aims to provide a global platform for young performers to shine.

As an exclusive intellectual property owned by PGDM, Asian K-Pop Stars will span five (5) seasons, kicking off this year. More than just a talent competition, AKS is a cultural movement that brings together aspiring K-pop artists from diverse backgrounds. The goal? To not only uncover fresh talent but also to promote inclusivity in the entertainment industry, foster strong identities, nurture high tolerance, and create exclusive opportunities for participants to thrive internationally.

Empowering Female Talent in Asia

The first season of Asian K-Pop Stars is set to focus on female talents aged 18 to 30 from ASEAN nations, including Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. However, PGDM is also open to entries from other Asian countries, making this a truly regional initiative.

Participants must register independently by submitting a video showcasing their K-pop singing and dancing skills to the AKS organizing team. The registration fee is set at USD18 per video submission, but an early bird discount is available for those who register before April—bringing the fee down to just USD10.

The Road to Stardom: From Auditions to Bootcamp

Once registrations close, a panel of industry experts will conduct an initial screening process to shortlist 500 of the most promising participants. These selected candidates will then be invited for live auditions in three major cities: Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Bangkok.

A panel of esteemed judges—including renowned celebrities from South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia—will evaluate the contestants, selecting only the top 30 to advance to the next stage: the AKS Bootcamp.

The bootcamp will take place in Kuala Lumpur over five (5) weeks, with all participants living together in a dedicated training village, the location of which will be revealed during the official launch event in April. Throughout this period, the contestants will undergo intensive training in vocal performance, dance, stage presence, and more, preparing them for a career in the entertainment industry.

Weekly Concerts & A Grand Finale

A unique feature of AKS is its live weekly concerts, which will be broadcast on TV2, thanks to the official partnership with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM). Unlike many other reality competitions, there will be no eliminations during these weekly concerts. However, the grand finale in the fifth week will determine the top 20 winners, who will receive prizes valued at up to USD20,000.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Opportunity: Training in Korea

The ultimate reward for these 20 winners? A fully sponsored trip to South Korea in January 2026, where they will undergo an intensive K-pop training program at the prestigious World K-Pop Centre (WKC). Lasting between six (6) to fourteen (14) months, this program will equip them with the skills and industry know-how needed to succeed in the global music scene.

Furthermore, the 20 finalists will sign recording contracts under WKC and be officially managed by PGDM, ensuring they receive the best career guidance and exposure in the competitive K-pop industry.
