Savoring Malay Cuisine at Dangau Langkawi! | Langkawi offers a tantalizing taste of Malay cuisine, rich in spices and flavors, reflecting the region's vibrant heritage. From aromatic rice dishes to savory seafood specialties, it's a culinary journey steeped in tradition and culture.
Finding a place that serves traditional Malay food in a peaceful setting is quite challenging in big cities like Kuala Lumpur but in Langkawi it almost easy to find one.
DANGAU LANGKAWI
Located next to paddy fields with a mouthwatering menu Dangau Langkawi is a restaurant managed by Encik Zaidi Hassan, also known as CikDi.
Originally built as a residence house, the site and building were eventually transformed into a unique restaurant amidst the paddy fields. Operating since 2022, Dangau Langkawi became more well-known as more traditional menus were introduced.

MENU AT DANGAU LANGKAWI
That evening we had a scrumptious menu and let's see what my friends and I tried at Dangau Langkawi. All the menu makes me drool while writing this and I wish Langkawi is near right now.haha
- Buttermilk/Sambal Grilled Fish
- Fish Curry
- Sambal Prawn
- Thousand Cracked Shellfish in Coconut Milk (Lala)
- Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste
- Omelette
- Fresh Vegetables & Sambal
The dishes looked and tasted delicious, especially when paired with white rice and syrup drinks. My favorite menu that day was the Lala Masak Lemak and also the Prawn Sambal.
Overall, the food here is truly delicious, complemented by the peaceful surroundings, enhancing the dining experience.
