Sekolah Amanah Conference Towards Sustainable Transformation of the Education Sector. | Sekolah Amanah is not a new name is the education sector where they have been successful produce many talented and successful people in 10 years’ time.  As of 2023, a total of 94 schools had been selected to participate in this program. This includes primary and secondary schools from all performance levels, with the aim of achieving sustainable improvement, regardless of their starting point.

The empowerment of Sekolah Amanah since its launch in 2010 has demonstrated positive results in improving school performance, especially for teachers and students. The Sekolah Amanah network under Yayasan AMIR, supported by Khazanah, no doubt has been able to enhance the quality of educational sector transformation in Malaysia.

Sekolah Amanah Conference 2023

To sustain this program, a two-day Sekolah Amanah Conference was organized to share the true agenda of the program and the successes and positive impacts achieved. Various informative sessions were designed to provide the public with insights into the transformation process and its achievements.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Haji Abdul Muie bin Ngah, Director of the Daily School Management Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia. Also in attendance was YM Raja Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Raja Tun Uda, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Yayasan AMIR.

During the event, the excellence and talents of SMK Lundu students were showcased. The program continued with a 'Our Voices' sharing session featuring the experiences of those who have participated in the Sekolah Amanah Program over the past 12 years.

A before-and-after video presentation of the Sekolah Amanah Program was shown to demonstrate its success and achievements to the public. Afterward, a visit to the exhibition area provided more information and insights into the involvement and achievements of teachers and students.

This two-day conference featured various agendas and forums, including a Teaching Sharing Session and a Future Outlook Forum for the Sekolah Amanah Program.

Day 1

Forum 1: The Journey to Future Preparedness – Fostering Thinking

Sharing Session 2: Closing the Learning Gap and Nurturing a Lost Generation.

Day 2

Talk on "A Better Tomorrow: Community-Engaged Research," by Professor Dato’ Dr. Aileen Tan Shau Wai, FASc, USM

 Innovation Sharing Session – Digital Wow! by Cikgu Shahril Bin Othman (SK Sri Samudera, Perak)

Student segment - "Shaping and Advocating Education for a Greener Environment." by Preetish Thanasegaran and Yaalini Anna Dickson from SJKT Viviekananda, Kuala Lumpur.

Education Forum - Spotlight: Education Transformation Journey and Next Steps, with Puan Juliana (Head of Program & Development, Putera Sampoerna Foundation, Indonesia) and Puan Azlina Binti Kamal (United Nations Children’s Fund – UNICEF), moderated by Dato’ Dr. Mehander Singh Nahar Singh, Member of the National Education Advisory Council.

The Sekolah Amanah Conference delivers valuable benefits to society by promoting educational excellence and innovation. It inspires educators and motivates students, fostering knowledge sharing and networking among education stakeholders. Through community engagement, it underscores the significance of societal involvement in education, enhancing the learning environment.

The conference encourages sustainability in educational reforms, prepares students for global competitiveness, and advocates for research-based practices.
