Barbarian Invasion Crowned the Best Film of AIFFA 2023.| The film Barbarian Invasion directed by Tan Chui Mui once again made history when it won the Best Film trophy at the climax of the International Film Festival (AIFFA) 2023 which took place from the Old Courthouse Kuching, Sarawak, last night.

The victory saw the film produced by Da Huang Pictures beating six other works namely Before, Now & Then from Indonesia, Ginhawa (Philippines), Prebet Sapu (Malaysia), Kargo (Philippines), Perjalan Pertama (Malaysia & Indonesia), and Duan Nago Bogho ( Malaysia).

The film starring Chui Mui, Pete Teo, Bront Palarae, James Lee and Zhiny Ooi also won the Best Screenplay category.

In 2021, Barbarian Invasion won the Jury Grand Prix trophy at the culmination of the Golden Goblet Awards in conjunction with the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) in Shanghai, China.

AIFFA was recognized by the ASEAN Tourism Minister in 2012 as an event to highlight ASEAN films.
