SELANGOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS LEAGUE ORGANIZED BY DYTM RAJA MUDA SELANGOR AND SELANGOR STATE ENTREPRENEUR DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE, PLEASED TO CROWN 3 SELANGOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS. | Woman is a pillar in a family and their courage can never be questioned by others. And low-income families and single mothers are one of those who really need support in the entrepreneurship industry.


Realizing this needs, His Royal Highness (D.Y.T.M.) Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Raja Muda Selangor and YB Hajah Rodziah Binti Ismail, Chairman Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Wellbeing, and State Entrepreneurship Development Selangor intends to develop the economic status of women from low-income families, mothers singles and employed women through the entrepreneurial program of the Liga Usahawan Wanita Selangor(Selangor Women's Entrepreneur League) with the Selangor Youth Community (SAY) collaboration that has been going on for three months begins April 2023.

The Selangor Women's League Program is a high-impact program with the goal is to empower B40 women through building skills, knowledge, and resources needed to generate sustainable income through business opportunities. This program is based on entrepreneurial training, mentor support from the industry, financial support in terms of loans and grants, and also strategic networking of the business community.

In the first phase of this program, a total of 100 female entrepreneurs were given exposure through seminars and business, and 30 committed participants were selected to participate in the coaching course entrepreneurship with mentors. In the final round of the Women's Entrepreneur League today, 10 female entrepreneurs made a business presentation in front of His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Alhaj, Young Raja of Selangor. 


Various businesses have been presented, among them are makeup services, chips, yogurt ice cream, services leather sewing, selling nasi lemak at night, curtain sewing services, and etc.

At the end of the presentation, three entrepreneurs won the final round and were crowned as the Icon of the Selangor Women's Entrepreneur League 2023. The winner will take home the Icon trophy Selangor Women Entrepreneurs League 2023 and a grant worth RM3,000 per person. In addition, as many 21 other participants received business grants worth RM1,000 each to help them
start their own micro business.

The three winners of the 2023 Selangor Women Entrepreneur League Finals are:

First place



Sofea Chan Shu Fen Abdullah, 46, who started a multi-flavored popiah skin snack business in 2018 used the challenge of falling during the covid 19 pandemic as fuel to keep rising.

Crowned as the champion, she felt excited and moved to put this victory as a foundation to continue to progress and be able to take his product to a higher level.

Producing and marketing Pop Yummy snacks, this product has 4 flavors including; Spicy cuttlefish seaweed cracker, Snow white mini roll, Salted egg cereal cracker, and Crispy churros stix. She explained that currently marketing is done online and physically at the Malakat Mall and Halal Expo supermarkets, and soon to be in E-Mart stores around Malaysia.

Second place 



The second runner-up, Nor Sabrina Nor Saidi, 37, faced with a suspected neurological disease (Chiari Malformation type 1) and suffered from a bacterial infection in the brain, did not lose her spirit in the slightest to continue fighting for a halal livelihood.

Starting in 2019, she and her husband ran a car steering wheel cover sewing service business. Moving in small steps, he is now able to breathe a sigh of relief when his business begins to gain attention after being advertised through the Tiktok application.

"Alhamdulillah, our service is in high demand throughout Malaysia and I intend to open up opportunities for anyone who has the skills to be with us to meet the volume of orders. Our service is 100% hand stitched and has a 1-year warranty and it can last up to 5 to 6 years depending on care" she explained.

She sincerely hopes that the women who are affected by economic, family, and financial problems will continue to persevere to get out of all problems. She said every woman should dare to try anything that can help improve the standard of living.

Third place



The third place winner, Fauziah Abdus Somad, 35, hopes that the community will enjoy eating vegetables as a healthy eating practice. Thus, she produces vegetable-based chip products so that people can enjoy healthy food, even if it's just a snack but still able to provide good nutrition to the body.


Starting business in 2016, Parre Chips products based on fried sweet potatoes are produced with less oil and salt ingredients to give people a healthy snack. In addition, he also produces ginger slices, fried onion slices and manjakani slices.

Hoping to be able to be more successful in business, she said the Selangor Women's Entrepreneur League has guided and educated her to become a brave and competitive entrepreneur.


The final round of the Women's Entrepreneur League recently was judged by an experienced jury consisting of from:

In his closing speech, YB Rodziah Ismail congratulated all the participants who
managed to finish the Selangor Women's Entrepreneurs League 2023 program which has already taken place for three months, 

"Through this program, Patik(I) and other attendees have witnessed the spirit, incredible courage, and perseverance of each of our female participants. You have shown unlimited potential in the business world. Every idea, step, and obstacle faced is important for a better future for yourself and your family. League of Entrepreneurs Wanita Selangor is not just a losing or winning competition, but is focused to create a community of women who help each other."

Congrats again to all the winners and I hope there are more women who will be inspired by their achievements and strive to be better in the future.
