As everyone know, Malaysia has adopted the new criteria of imkanur rukyah (visibility) starting Muharam 1443H. Thus, the determination of the beginning of the month of Hijri, including Ramadan, Syawal and Zulhijjah this year will apply the criteria that are also practiced by Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei.
The month awaited by all Muslims has now arrived and this opportunity should be taken advantage of by improving worship and increasing alms to those who need it. Ramadan is also a month of forgiveness as well as a month of victory and liberation from the fires of hell.
