Due to the encouraging response from the public, the traffic summons payment discount period has been extended until 31 December. Police General Inspector, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said since December 9, a total of 2.3 million summonses worth RM109 million had been settled.

 

"The response received was very encouraging at our counter during the 100 Days of Malaysian Family Aspirations program at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC) which made it difficult to comply with the SOP of physical imprisonment," he told reporters after visiting the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on Sunday.

“We decided to open all traffic counters across the country to those who wish to clear traffic summonses.

"PDRM has decided to give all citizens the opportunity to settle all their outstanding lawsuits at the same rate until December 31.

"The extension is to avoid congestion at traffic counters at this time," he said.

He added that the summons payment discount was also offered to reduce the financial burden faced by a large number of Malaysians affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, Acryl Sani said those who wanted to clear the traffic summons online could do so through the portal www.mybayarsaman.rmp.gov.my

Earlier, Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Mat Kasim Karim was quoted as saying that the public was advised to browse the portal outside peak hours to avoid line congestion, as it operates 24 hours a day.

My sister did pay her summons yesterday online and guess what my father has summon that didn't have any discount since it is a double line summon. haha. Anyway, I'm glad our car didn't have any JPJ or Police summons but unfortunately, we have 5 MBPJ summons. So when MBPJ wanna make discounts too? Come on MBPJ does make sales too..it's been a while you know.
