A Story of Siratul Mustaqim Bridge That You Should Know. | Salam Jumaat. As a Muslim we believe there is more waiting for us in the life after and there is Kiamat, the day of punishment.
One of the part of the journey before you went to heaven you have to across a bridge that known as Siratul Mustaqim. It is not a regular bridge like we have in this world but it is different.
What is Siratul Mustaqim Bridge?
Abu Sai’d al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“A bridge will come and be placed across Hell.” We said, “O Messenger of Allah, what is the bridge?” The Prophet said, “It is shaky and slippery, over which are claws, pincers, and broad spikes with curved thorns like the seed found in Najd known as al-Sa’dan. The believer will cross over it like the blink of an eye, or like lightning, or like wind, or like powerful horses, or like camels. Thus, one will be unharmed, another will be lacerated, and another will plunge into the fires of Hell, until the last one will be dragged across it.”

So, apparently the Siratul Mustaqim Bridge was very dark. The Companions asked the Prophet Muhammad SAW "if it is dark how do we want to cross it?"
Prophet Muhammad replied, "with the light coming out of our members(body). The brightness or dimness of the light depends on our practice of time in the world.
Some of its members were shining brightly, so it was easy for him to cross the Siratul Mustaqim Bridge. Some people have the light on their toes only, so cross them with that limited light.
There are people whose light blinks in and out. When the light came out, he walked. When the light disappeared he stopped first. That's how he was all the way.
The members of heaven are those who will not speak things that are detrimental or futile. A member of heaven is a person who when speaking will not utter words that offend others.
The people of heaven are those whose free time is only spent reading the Quran and reciting zikr praising Allah.
Prophet Muhammad SAW said, "The person of hell is neither dead nor alive." It mean that they blinked to death, blinked to life. And it is continuous until the end of his term in hell.
The body of the son of Adam was enlarged by God in hell a few cubits so that the pain felt was more. Hell is too dark because the fire is too hot.
Imagine how long we be in hell because of sins?
Some are burned to the end and remain in hell to become charcoal. Until the time comes, everything goes out and goes to heaven.
Imagine the disbeliever how long he will live in the hell of God. That is why sometimes our tears flow when we go to the cemetery to imagine what their fate will be and what our fate will be. Even the cemetery is dark and living in it makes me furious of my deed and sins.
And then, our Prophet will wait for all his ummah to enter heaven and then the Prophet will enter heaven. It was narrated that the Prophet waited for his ummah until the last person crossed the Siratul Mustaqim Bridge.
The Prophet walked slowly, he waited. The bridge is dark because it is laid out over hell. In front of the Siratul Mustaqim Bridge is the gate of heaven. Some walk like the wind, suitable for people who never hurt people but always give instead of receiving.
This last person, the person whose faith is the weakest.
This paradise alone is too beautiful. Not to mention getting into it. The members of the voice heaven also sound good.
After he crossed the Siratul Mustaqim Bridge earlier, he saw a large tree under which there was running water.
He asked God to sit there.
God said sit down, O My servant.
Then in front of him he saw another beautiful tree.
He asked to be under the tree.
God willing.
Then he looked again in front of him another beautiful tree that had much more enjoyment.
He also asked to sit there again.
God allows it too.
From there he heard the voices of the people in heaven.
The voices were so melodious, he asked with God to enter that paradise.
God allows it too.
When he entered he came out again, then he asked Allah is there a place for him there?
God said, have you ever heard of the richest people in the world?
He said never.
Then God said,
"Indeed, for you, I will bestow 10x double even more than the wealth of the richest people"
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“I will be the first to cross the bridge over Hell. The supplication of the Messengers on that day will be: O Allah, keep us safe! O Allah, keep us safe! There will be hooks on the sides like the thorns of al-Sa’dan, except their enormity is only known to Allah. People will be seized by them according to their deeds. Among them are those who are ruined by their deeds. Among them are those who are cut into pieces and later saved, until Allah has finished judging between His servants and He intends to take out of the Hellfire whomever He wills to take out. For whomever testified there is no God but Allah, the angels will be ordered to take them out and they will be known by their trace marks of prostration. Allah has forbidden the Hellfire from consuming any children of Adam with traces of prostration. They will be taken out after they had been burned, then dipped into a water called the water of life. They will spring forth like seeds on a streaming river.”

God is Most Merciful, my friends. Even the last person is given such a great favor. Not to mention those who are obedient to HIM. It is true that travel in this world is dark and full of tests everywhere. Only our eyes are blinded by the delays and pleasures of life in this world.
Without realizing it we have been distracted by negligence so that we get lost in the search for God. There is a road that is close so far. There is an easy but complicated path we choose.
May we be shown the way.
Amen
