Merdeka 2021! : Happy 64th Independence Day Malaysia. | MERDEKA! MERDEKA! MERDEKA! Yes, it's Malaysia Independence Day today and it marks a 64th years of Malaysia Independence Day.
Malaysia’s Independence Day, also known as Hari Merdeka or Hari Kebangsaan. On this day in 1957, over 20,000 people gathered at the Merdeka Stadium in the capital city of Kuala Lumpur as government officials shouted “Merdeka!” seven times in a declaration of freedom. This event marked the official birth of the Federation of Malaya which was renamed Malaysia in 1963.
31st August 1957
On the night of 30 August 1957, more than 20,000 people gathered at Merdeka Square (Padang Merdeka) in Kuala Lumpur to witness the handover of power from the British. Prime Minister-designate Tunku Abdul Rahman arrived at 11:58 p.m. and joined members of the Alliance Party's youth divisions in observing two minutes of darkness. On the stroke of midnight, the lights were switched back on, and the Union Flag in the square was lowered as the royal anthem "God Save The Queen" played.
The new Flag of Malaya was raised as the national anthem Negaraku was played. This was followed by seven chants of "Merdeka" by the crowd. Tunku Abdul Rahman later gave a speech hailing the ceremony as the "greatest moment in the life of the Malayan people". Before giving the address to the crowd, he was given a necklace by representatives of the Alliance Party youth in honour of this great occasion in history, with a map of Malaya inscribed on it. The event ended at one in the morning.
From that day, Malaysia still an independence country and very peaceful country to live. It all thanxs to all the warrior, soldier whose never afraid to fight for the Malaysian independence.
Malaysia Prihatin
This year, Malaysia Independence theme was same as last year. Malaysia Prihatin were chosen because during this pandemic covid-19, many has lost their love one, even job and also home/shelter. As a country that emphatic with their citizen, many helps have been given during this pandemic time from the Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat, Geran Khas Prihatin, Bantuan Bakul Makanan, Bantuan Khas Covid and so many more.
Malaysia government does took great initiative to help every level of citizen in this country during the pandemic. For me it does help to relief some burden during this pandemic when my husband loose his job and we are struggling with our small business. Eventhough end up we have to close down our stall but still we manage to survive. All thanks to our own epf, by the icitra program we manage to withdraw our saving for daily use.
Malaysia Today.
1. Yang Di-Pertuan Agong ke 16
Malaysia today were rules by The 16 Agong, Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah. He is Pahang Sultan and has been in the throne since 31st January 2019. I do respect his ruling this country and how he manage the political issue in Malaysia last year.
2. Malaysia 9 Prime Minister
The Political Crises in Malaysia during the pandemic really challenging when there is a step down and also lost trust. This month new Prime Minister has been voted and they gave the seat to Dato' Seri Ismail Sabri bin Yaakob starting on the 21st August 2021. I hope that new PM will rule the country with fair and honesty and focus more on combact the pandemic and cure the economic in Malaysia.
3. Vaccination Rate
As at today, we can see the percentage of Malaysian Vaccination rate is up to 63.6% and for the 1st dose it already at 83.8%. It is a good news to all Malaysia because we really hope to gain the herd immunity as fast as we can so we can get back to our normal life again.
And as for me, I had my 2nd dose of Astrazaneca yesterday. It was a very quick process compare to my first day having it. So far, I didn't have any fever and ache like before. I just really sleepy thats all. Haha.. anyway I hope after 14days I can brings my kids to the park and mall and let them explore the world again. It might be too early and risky but I think once a while should be okay for them. They stay at home for too long, I don't want them to be paranoid with the world they living in. But then, I hope Covid-19 will be gone soon so we can really live independence as before.
Again, Happy Independence Day Malaysia. Stay safe everyone!
