Hatchling Release, Egg Planting and Turtle Watching at Resorts World Kijal. | Remember my last visit to Resorts World Kijal? On our trip we had the opportunity to experience the hatchling release, egg planting and also turtle watching courtesy from Resorts World Genting.
Turtle watching was so common in Terengganu where it is the hot spot for the Turtle to hatched. To be invited to witness this nature beauty is something I look forward in life and I'm so blessed with this opportunity thank you again to Resorts World Genting.
Hatchling Release, Egg Planting and Turtle Watching.
And yes not even me are lucky, everyone now had the opportunity to witness the circle of life as turtles return to the beach at Resorts World Kijal, Terengganu every year. The resort’s conservation efforts are supported by guest activities like hatchling release, egg planting and turtle watching.
"Kita tengok Penyu bertelur (we watch the turtle hatching)", it was one the lyrics that came on head when talk about this, and this songs was sing with Terengganu dialect. Terengganu are well known with turtle and you can easily got a turtle egg during the high season. It is sad that they eat the Turtle egg and I can even imagine who the taste like. Anyway congratulation to Resorts World Kijal for making this good programme, we definitely need to save more turtles for our future generation.
Turtles usually arrive on Terengganu beaches
from April to September, mainly consisting of the common Green Turtle (Chelonia
Mydas) and the occasional rare Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys Imbricate). Did you know that it is not easy to watch the mother turtle lays their egg? We also didn't lucky enough to watch this miracle moment on that night even though it reaches its peak in September.
For about three months, the eggs will lay incubating in the sand, the mother turtle can choose their egg to be a male or female and it is depends to sand temperature. If the eggs plant in hot area it will be a female and if it is cold/shady area it will be a male. It is unique In the years to come, many will return to the very same beach, completing the cycle of life. They said that turtle imprint with the location they hatched, therefore they will come back to the same spot to lays their eggs. And of course Resorts World Kijal will be there waiting to welcome them back.

During the hatchling released, we had so many new information about this endangered species. Research said that from 1000 baby turtles that went to the sea, only about 2 or 3 will survive. Too sad because the predator is everywhere from sea and also from the air. Being a high-trafficked area, Resorts World Kijal has a conservation programme in place to ensure the safety of both the turtles and their eggs.
Regular cleanings are done to ensure the beach is safe
for both turtle landings and guest activities, and the resort is also working
with the Terengganu Department of Fisheries to seek official protection for its
beach and to certify its guest turtle conservation programme.
For the ecologically inclined and curious, guests can participate in turtle hatchlings release or egg planting sessions (RM49 per person), as well as night-time turtle watching (RM70 per person) held at the resort or at the Turtle Sanctuary Ma Daerah Kerteh or Pantai Teluk Mak Nik Kuala Kemaman, transportation included. The latter two are popular turtle watching sites, supported by Resorts World Kijal via the Department of Fisheries’ annual beach cleanup.

And they go. Sobs! |
Tree Planting
The conservation programme also includes the tree planting programme. Tree is one the most important things in our life because they provide us with the oxygen that will makes us able to breath fresh air.
its a coconut tree! |
In Resorts World Kijal, they plant the coconut tree and also the pine tree. The pine tree is one the important tree by the beach because they will hold the sand and avoid from landslide and so on. I love pine tree because the leaves is unique and beautiful.
Tree planting project is a good deeds because wise man said 'when you plant a tree and someone stay under it for protection, you will got a benefits from it'. So, lets encourage more people to join this good programme okay?

Hence, lets participate in great conservative programme to ensure the better life in the future. It will be a sad things if we can't be able to see turtle anymore in Malaysia right?
