Family Day Funtivities. | Family is the one we will cherish through our entire life. This day many parents are busy with their job and forgot to spend time with their love one that are waiting for them from their work everyday.

Did you know there’s an entire day dedicated to spending time with your family? I’m constantly trying to find new ways to engage my children in new activities, so National Family Day (February 19th) is perfect! There are a ton of great ways to spend time with your children, but I’ve put together a few of my favorites (and something I'm going to do with my kids soon) to share with you!

1. Act out your favorite movie scenes

This is a perfect activity for when the weather isn’t the best. Have the kids write down a list of their favorite movies and then have them act out their favorite scenes. Not only will your kids get to participate in a creative and fun activity, it might also encourage them to explore a new hobby. Once you're done, sit down and watch those movies on Pure Flix. If you’re interested in more educational options for your children you should check out their homeschool curriculum resources. They are great to use to continue education outside of the classroom, not just for homeschoolers.

2.Plan a vacation

Who doesn’t love a nice, peaceful vacation? I visited the Suria Hot Spring a couple years ago and it was amazing! It melts all of your stress away and there was a separate pool for the children too at the resort. Family Day is the perfect time to plan a vacation by taking the time to pick locations and do some research! Set a budget and a date, and go something that you’ve never been. 3. Write a book

Instead of going to the library, write a book with your kids! It can be as long or short as you’d like, and they can let their imaginations run wild by creating their own storyline and characters. Or you can make the story about your own family history. Make it a team effort and buy some construction paper, colored pencils, stencils, stickers, photos, and whatever else you want to use. This idea makes for a great afternoon project and can be proudly displayed in your home.

4. Go to a kids gym

Find new ways to play by going to a kids gym or trampoline park! This is the ultimate attraction for kids that love being active and jumping around. These places have something for all age ranges. From a toddler zone to rock climbing to freestyle jumping and foam zones, you’re bound to find something everyone will love. Search your local area and buy tickets! They’re usually cheaper when you buy in advance.

5. Tea party

Invite your grandparents and extended family over for a little get-together! Have the kids help prepare tea and finger sandwiches for an elegant high tea celebration. Encourage your children to dress up and spend the afternoon catching up and sharing some of their favorite memories. If you prefer something more casual just make a pot of tea and sit around the kitchen table! Here are some more ideas to inspire your own!

These are just a few wonderful things you can do to celebrate Family Day, but remember to go out and make it your own! There are endless ways to keep your family entertained while making memories with those you’re closest to. Quality time with everyone together is hard to come by, and I’d love to hear about how you spend those moments with the ones you love the most!
